RADNOR TIMBER BUILDINGS:
JOINERY ITEMS:
ADDITIONAL ITEMS:
Unless we have quoted for them, the following items aren’t included:
Radnor Timber Buildings can be located on most flat surfaces i.e. a patio, gravel, concrete or grass. We can manufacture a new timber sub-base if your building is going to be erected on grass or gravel.
We can prepare drawings for a new concrete base if required.
No brick walls are required.
We deliver our timber garden buildings nationwide.
Delivery is free of charge for local projects which we erect.
We can quote for delivery further afield or you can collect with suitable transport if preferred.
Our buildings include a Cedar shingle roof. Cedar shingles have been proven to last for over 30 years. They weather to a mellow silvery grey to match the weathering of the cladding.
Radnor Timber Buildings are naturally durable. The framing components and cladding on Luxury Sheds and Garden Rooms are treated with a clear preservative which protects the timber whilst allowing it to weather naturally.
Our Larch Garden Pavilions and Summerhouses aren’t treated with any preservatives as Larch is naturally durable.
Your Radnor Timber Building will ‘weather’ externally over time. You can paint or stain weatherboarding for aesthetic reasons, however we like to leave everything natural.
We guarantee that the timber components won’t rot within 10 years, however any additional preservative you apply can only extend the life of your building. Clear preservative can be applied to the exterior at any time, even after it has weathered.
Your joinery items will be painted in our workshop prior to delivery unless you have requested otherwise.
As with all timber doors and windows, we recommend that you periodically protect them with a high quality paint exactly as you would for the joinery items in your house.
Our joinery is very high quality and deserves some TLC.
We include installation free of charge within an hour’s drive of our workshop (most of Powys, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire).
For self assembly, the installation of most Radnor Timber buildings is very straight forward for competent DIYers. The panels are heavy and require at least two fit and strong people. All fixings and instructions are included.
For more complex buildings such as Garden Rooms and Summerhouses the services of a local carpenter may be required.
We manufacture and assemble your timber building in our workshop. Each building is made in sections/panels which are then disassembled and packed ready for delivery.
We have an indoor Timber Garden Buildings Showroom at Presteigne, Powys where a selection of Luxury Sheds, Garden Rooms, Larch Pavilions and Garden Workshops & Stores are on display.
We are happy for customers to drop in to view the demo buildings, or alternatively book an appointment to ensure a member of staff is available to answer any questions and discuss their project.
Call us on 01544 260727 to arrange your appointment.
If your building is to be located within 2 metres of your boundary, the overall height must be lower than 2.5 metres high. Radnor Timber Luxury Sheds and Garden Rooms are lower 2.5 metres.
When erecting new buildings which are further than 2m from the boundary, they must not be higher than 4m in total height to avoid planning permission. All Radnor Timber Buildings are lower than 4m.
Other criteria may need to be met. Useful information can be found here Planning Portal
It is advisable to check with your local authority if you are uncertain.
Most of our timber buildings can be delivered in 4 to 6 weeks.
As soon as your timber building has been manufactured (and if applicable, the joinery items have been painted and glazed), we will email you to arrange delivery or collection.
If you are collecting, please ensure that your vehicle (and trailer if applicable) is suitable.
If we are delivering, please ensure that you or a representative are available to accept delivery of your products and to help the driver unload your goods. Unloading takes two people as the panels are too large for one person. Please ensure that the person helping with the unloading is capable of carrying reasonably heavy objects.
Customers must advise us if access is unsuitable for a small lorry.
Please call us on 01544 260727 if you have any questions relating to delivery of products.
We guarantee the structural components and cladding against rot for 10 years.
See our Terms & Conditions for further information.
Timber components and cladding can expand and contract with changes in the atmosphere, and some components may twist and cup. The cladding and other exterior timber components will ‘weather’ to a ‘silvery-grey’ colour over time unless they are painted or stained. These are natural characteristics of timber weatherboards and are not imperfections.
The dimensions of timber components and cladding may vary slightly due to sawmilling and workshop procedures. The colour of timber components and cladding is likely to vary, however weathering evens out the colour over time. Variations in dimensions or colour won’t affect performance.
Timber Grade: The timber components in our timber buildings are character grade. This means that some faces may include knots, fissures, waney edge, sapwood and other natural characteristics. These do not affect the structural integrity of our buildings. Our doors and windows are machined from joinery grade timber.
Your joinery items require painting. If you have opted to paint your own doors and windows, please ensure that you paint them immediately after delivery and keep them dry until they are fitted. We offer a painting service for your doors and windows.
Please ensure that your doors and windows are painted regularly after fitting to ensure they are protected from the elements.
